Mobile tower cranes

Mobile tower cranes combine the advantages of a fixed tower crane with a mobile crane. The operator has good visibility of the work from the cabin, and thanks to the undercarriage, the crane can operate well both on construction sites and in urban areas. Once on site, the operator can adjust the crane and then the crane is operational within 15 to 30 minutes.

With these cranes, which can lift up to 60 meters far and with a maximum hook height of more than 64 meters, these cranes are suitable for a wide variety of jobs. Some of these machines can even operate fully electrical.

The table below lists the specifications of our mobile tower cranes. Curious about the possibilities? Then contact us or request an offer right away!

Crawler tower crane

A rare machine on Dutch construction sites, the crawler tower crane. With a crawler undercarriage and tower crane superstructure, the crawler tower crane combines the mobility of a crawler crane with the reach and load visibility of a tower crane.

Mobile tower cranes for rent at Kraanbedrijf Nederhoff

At Kraanbedrijf Nederhoff, we offer mobile tower cranes for rent. With these impressive machines from Dutch Spierings and German Liebherr, you are assured of high quality and reliability for your lifting operations.

One of the main advantages is quick deployment thanks to the undercarriage that is allowed on the road. This allows the crane to be moved quickly from one location to another, allowing your project to be completed efficiently and on time. Once on site, the crane is quickly deployable because of its rapidly constructive superstructure. A unique feature of these machines is that the operator can see the work from the superstructure cabin. This provides an excellent view of lifting operations and ensures greater accuracy and safety while working at great heights.

We also offer a crawler tower crane, this crane combines the substructure of a crawler crane with the aforementioned advantages of the superstructure of a tower crane.

We have summarized the most important features by type on the product charts above. More information can be found in the downloadable specifications.

Capacity

The capacity of tower cranes is measured in ton meters. Tonmeter is the product of the number of tons a crane can lift on a given run, measured in meters. The maximum value of ton meters is used to indicate the capacity of the crane. Because this capacity is difficult to interpret, it is little used in practice.

Boom length

In practice, it is more often referred to as the maximum horizontal reach of the crane, measured from the crane’s turning radius. For example, it talks about a 60-meter mobile tower crane, not a 132-ton-meter mobile tower crane. The specifications therefore state the maximum lifting load per meter of flight. You can see which crane you need for your project here.

Outrigger or crawler base

Before lifting operations can begin, a crane will need to be stable. A crane will need to be set up on its outriggers for this purpose. The outriggers extend and push the crane up so that eventually the crane is completely on the outriggers. This distance between the centers of the stamps is therefore stated. To determine the area required to set up the crane, we must add the length of half of the outrigger plate as well as part of the outrigger bulkhead to this distance. You can find more information about this in the specifications. For the crawler crane, the maximum size of the tracks is given.
